Torn Earlobe Repair
Plastic surgery to repair a torn earlobe is a frequent occurrence. You may be a candidate for earlobe repair if your earlobes are torn, split or stretched from trauma or years of wearing heavy earrings. Repair of a torn earlobe occurs in the plastic surgery office setting using a local anesthetic. Sutures are removed 1-2 weeks after the repair procedure. A thin layer of antibiotic ointment is the only dressing applied in most cases. A little drainage from the wound is to be expected. Re-piercing your earlobes will be performed in the office six to eight weeks after the procedure.
